What is it?
The ShapeShift template allows users to create mind-bending 3D transformations in your footage in Adobe After Effects. These transformations can be used as transition effects or just as a unique, hypnotic effect in your video that gets the viewers' attention.
ShapeShift works by projecting your footage onto the sides of a group of 3D shapes. As your camera orbits around the shapes, there's a mesmerizing illusion of transformation in your footage. With multiple presets featuring a variety of shapes, you'll be able to quickly render a variety of unique transitions. Or, you can get creative with the Shape Library, and build your own unique designs!

14 Presets – Finished comps with pre-designed shapes in the middle of the scene. Simply use the the controls to orbit your camera around the shapes and create your effect.

Create Your Own Designs – ShapeShift includes a library of 3D shapes that can be used to create your own custom transition effects. The customizations controls make it easy to quickly spread out or arrange a large number of 3D shapes or 2D planes into unique patterns.

27 Sounds Effects – Included are a variety of creaking, cranking, scraping, rolling, swooshing, and other sound effects that you can drag and drop to your comp.

Easy Customization – Customize your scene with easy controls on the Control Layer. There are no pre-rendered elements (100% made in After Effects. The video tutorial below, and written instructions found throughout the template, explain how it works and how to customize it.

HD / 4K – Includes two versions of the template, optimized for 1920x1080 and for 3840x2160. Comps can be modified for any resolution.

Need to Know

This template is compatible with Adobe After Effects, v.17.0 (2020) and all later versions. Works on both PCs and Macs. No plugins required.

The template features comps in both HD (1920x1080) and 4K (3840x2160). For other resolutions, simply change the dimensions of the main comp and precomps in the Composition Settings panel.

Footage and music in demo video not included. All included sound effects are obtained from Pixabay.com. The files are public domain, and can be used for commercial and noncommercial purposes, no attribution required.

This template has been "universalized", so it will work in After Effects running in any language.
The ShapeShift template is not a plugin, so there is nothing to install. Rather, it's an Adobe After Effects project file, commonly known as a "template" because most of the work is already done and the user needs only to make their own customizations. This template is compatible with version 17.0 as well as all later versions of After Effects.
