What is it?
Fire & Smoke is a collection of customizable fire, smoke, sparks, and heat haze effects for Adobe After Effects. Being made entirely in After Effects with no pre-rendered elements, you have complete control over the look and behavior of the effects, making them ideal for integrating into your animations or motion graphics.
With 17 fire, smoke, and sparks presets, and with over 30 customization controls for each, you can achieve a wide variety of looks. As a bonus, the project for the demo video is included, giving you access to all the custom fire and title animations seen in the video!

Heat Haze Effect – Add controlled heat distortion to your footage. Customize the speed, direction, detail level, position, and movement of the heat haze. Control the amount of blurring and warping separately. Feather the intensity of the blurring and warp at the edges.

Animations from Demo Video – The comps for the above demo video are included, with no pre-rendered elements - so everything can be customized. Customize the title animations with your own text, or inspect the comps to see how fire elements were composited.

9 Title Effects – Added in the 2024 update, the template now includes 9 heat-themed animated titles, (including smoking text and text on fire), taken from the Creation Title Effects template.

Last update: Jan 2, 2024. This template is compatible with Adobe After Effects , version 17 (2020) and all later versions. Works on both PCs and Macs. No plugins required.

The effects are scalable by changing the layer dimensions and/or comp size.

This template has been "universalized", so it will work in After Effects running in any language.
The Fire & Smoke template is not a plugin, so there is nothing to install. Rather, it's an Adobe After Effects project file, commonly known as a "template" because most of the work is already done and the user needs only to make their own customizations. This template is compatible with version 2020 (v.17) as well as all later versions of After Effects.
